Hero Dakota Jack is your man in Bombergeddon Premium. Gamers take on his role as an avid explorer and archaeologist, financed by the wealthy Donald Morgan. Gamers get to explore Egyptian tombs, Aztec ruins, Chinese catacombs and more in the quest for buried treasure and ancient artifacts. Sounds interesting, eh? Game play is very similar to the popular Bomberman series, in which gamers must carefully, but quickly, place bombs around the map to clear obstacles and kill enemies. Don’t stand around too long, or your own bomb will take you out!
Before each mission, gamers can spend their finances at the item shop, purchasing upgraded bombs. There’s both a Campaign mode, and a neat Survival mode, where gamers must fight off hordes of enemies in different stages. Finally, unlockable achievemtns and high scores are also included in Bombergeddon Premium. Controls use an onscreen direction pad, with another button on the right for setting down bombs. I’m not a big fan of onscreen d-pad controls, but it gets the job done in Bombergeddon Premium.
Graphical Layout
I really liked the graphical layout of Bombergeddon Premium. It feels like a lovely, retro romp on the Android operating system, complete with cutsey pixel art characters, excellent maps and well-animated explosions. It’s not a slick, 3D gaming app, but don’t less that be a detractor. True fans of old-school Bomberman and other Nintendo games will feel right at home with Bombergeddon Premium. Furthermore, the helpful tutorial at game start, along with the great sound track set this game off on the right note!
Value
If you don’t mind pixel art graphics and loved the Bomberman series, I would strongly suggest Bombergeddon Premium for Android. It’s well done, with loads of levels and puzzles to solve for all gamers. Combine this with a fairly low price of $0.99, plus a solid sound track with a fun storyline, and you have yourself a winner of an app in Bombergeddon Premium!
