Warranty Hotel: Written and Video Android App Review

If you’ve ever had to deal with the lengthy, tedious paperwork involved in keeping up with or using a warranty, you’ll be happy to hear there’s an app for that now, too. It’s called Warranty Hotel, and it’s a single, handy app from Warranty Hotel A/S. This app makes maintaining, tracking, sharing and activating warranties a breeze.

Features:

The Warranty Hotel Android app is built to integrate seamlessly with items purchased from participating vendors. If you buy a stove, for example, from a company who uses Warranty Hotel, you’ll be able to register your warranty by scanning a simple QR code. Warranty Hotel is a global company, so you’ll be able to tell which stores use the service by accessing the find stores section of the app.

What if your store isn’t on the list? No biggie. You can still enter savable, searchable warranty details, take photographs of the paperwork, and take your warranty digital. If you’re lucky enough to shop with a consumer who does use this app, it’s pretty amazing how a single scan can give you access to all kinds of information.

As with so many specialized apps, the success of the Warranty Hotel Android app will depend almost entirely on the partnering companies. Unfortunately, there weren’t any in my area at this time. If I was shopping in Denmark I might have had better luck.

Layout & Design:

Using the Warranty Hotel Android app is quite easy. The app is rendered in appealing red on light blue that’s easy to read and set up in a series of buttons that are easy to access. The map interface works quite well. Again, I was at a bit of a loss since I’m not in Denmark, where this app’s partner companies are located, but I can see how using it would be quite a snap.

I did find myself wishing that the store description sections were laid out a bit more nicely. For stores with a lot of written content, it all appeared a bit plain. Nothing’s less appealing to consumers than a big page of plain text. So the app could use a few adjustments.

Overall Value:

If you’re a resident of Denmark, and you shop at the stores currently using this app’s services, then Warranty Hotel is quite a deal at $.99. If you’re not so fortunate, then I really wish the app was offered in a free, lite version so that those of us wanting to log our info manually had a cheaper way to do it.

All in all, this app is alright, provides a necessary service, and does it with a dash of style.
