Gamezen’s Fly Bird Free, available through the Google Play Store, is a new successful gaming app from this developer. With addicting gameplay and attractive graphics, this light Android entertainment looks to be another smash hit on this mobile platform.

Fans of classic matching games like Tetris and Bejeweled will find themselves in friendly territory with Fly Bird Free. Gamers have to aim a little birdy, located at the bottom of the screen, to “fly” upward and match with similarly colored birds at the top of the screen. Fly Bird has two game modes: Classic and Puzzle. There is an ad to buy the full game version, without any ads that pops up at the start of each game mode but it easily skipped. To complete each Puzzle mode, users must match a set number of birds. However, in Classic mode, gamers take on virtually unlimited numbers of bird-matching fun, with frantic feathered launching of ‘em. Once you match enough birds, you automatically progress to the next level and can unlock new and exciting birds along the way (bomb birds, anyone?). Basic idea is to launch a little birdie, aiming carefully to match ‘em up into groups of at least 4 to drive them off the branches. It’s simple, relaxing fun and works quite well on the Android OS. Be careful where you are aiming, as too much or too little can throw the bird in the wrong direction!
Graphical Layout
Fly Bird Free has sharp, cute cartoon graphics. Colorful, bright and shiny layout with simple buttons allow for easy navigation. The animations look fantastic and the included game sounds are really fitting for this birdsy gaming app. The controls are calibrated fairly well and the game itself responds nicely to user input on Android touch screens. There’s a little help guide in the beginning and it sets the pace for this fairly straight forward app on Android.
Value
Fly Bird Free is a must-try app for any gamer looking for light entertainment on Android. It’s not super complex, but there is plenty of matching fun, combined with excellent graphics and smooth animations. The two game modes also add to the replay value of this fun Android app. Finally, it’s free (with limited ads) and only requires Android 2.2 or higher, definitely a plus for users running older devices.
