Like the idea of strategy and defending your base from the enemy, while taking down the enemy by yourself? Then the Boom Brigade 2 app from developer 10tons Ltd is just the perfect app for you!
Gameplay
When you first load Boom Brigade 2 you are led to the main menu which offers three options: “Help”, “Play”, and “More”. The “More” section lets you adjust game options and profile, view credits and other games from the developer, decipher game terminology, and connect via social networking. The “Help” section provides you with a brief tutorial on how to play the game. Basically, you are to defend the bunker against aliens. You move about by drawing a path from any one of the troopers. To target an alien for an attack, you simply tap on them. You can collect additional power ups by running over them as well. Different power ups that can be earned include healing, additional scoring, extraordinary weapons, bunker repair, attack assistance, missile firing, strength boost, temporary shield protector, and the ability to order an artillery barrage. If you ever want to get into the “tactical mode” tap on the brown square icon and the game play will be briefly paused so orders can be issued. Some tips to take note of are that troopers target priority targets foremost and then the next closest enemy. If you are struggling on a level, use the tactical mode. Also, there is no such thing as friendly fire.
Graphical Layout
The overall graphics of Boom Brigade 2 are pretty stellar. Clean cut imagery and smooth animation make this game enjoyable and entertaining. With the “Help” section, you should be able to figure out the gist of the game and its functions in no time, and even after a couple of trial and errors, making the most out of your defense strategy should be fun and challenging. The background music and sound effects match well with the theme and enhance the actual game play.
Value
Although Boom Brigade 2 is initially offered for free, only the first chapter is offered for free and then with an in-app purchase you can unlock the full game and remove and ads along with it. That shouldn’t deter you from getting the app though. It is nice that some trial experience is offered so you can get a taste of the game. However, consider yourself warned. Once you start playing this game, you will most likely go on to by the full version – it is that fun!
