Jet Raiders: Written Android App Review
Here at Android Apps Review, we’re more than a little sold on the concept of arcade games for our mobile phones. We love being able to take a few minutes out of our wait in the queue to peg away at some baddies, solve a few puzzling levels, or just kill time efficiently. As such, we’re stoked to introduce you today to Jet Raiders by developer Byterush. The app is a classic hark back to a golden era of top-down gaming, and we cannot get enough of it. Concept and Gameplay
Jet Raiders for Android
If you have ever played a top-down plan simulation shooter before, then you’re already in tune with what Jet Raiders has to offer. Essentially, the app will allow you to careen from one end of each level to the next, blasting baddies out of the sky, collecting ammunition and powerups as they fall from the sky, and generally being the biggest, baddest flying ace around—until you’re taken out by a loose rock formation, that is. It’s good, classic fun, and with gyration-based controls, it could not be more fun to dive into.
The developers have also done quite a bit to keep the gameplay fresh. For instance, the app comes with a wealth of powerups and additions that can be acquired through extended play. You’ll also find large-baddie boss fights, which are a pleasant takeaway from the constant bashing and smashing of your opponents. Lastly, if you’ve ever had a soft spot for these games of games, we promise you’ll appreciate the ability to take one with you in your pocket, no matter where you go.
Graphics and Design
Best of all, Jet Raiders looks bloody fantastic on the Android platform. It’s got a gorgeous cell-shaded graphics style that we adore, as well as some rich gameplay additions. For instance, we appreciated the multiple play styles, as well as the in-game objectives which can be used to better yourself as a pilot. Further still, the controls are breathtakingly easy to acquire a mastery of, allowing you to get up and flying with Jet Raiders in only a matter of a few seconds. Solid work all the way around.
Overall Value
In fact, our only real complaint with Jet Raiders is its pricing. The app is not $0.99, as we might like it to be, and though the difference between our expectations and its $1.21 price tag are minimal, it’s still an important point. Either way, you’ll find yourself enjoying the mess out of Jet Raiders no matter what, which makes the app easily worth the pittance cost of entry. All in all, Jet Raiders earns a solid recommendation from us.
