Pirate Adventures: Written Android Game Review
Are you lookin’ for a great new game t’ keep you entertained for hours? Maybe you’re a fan o’ games that challenge you while immersin’ you in a deep storyline with many twists and turns. If so, read on matey!
Pirate Adventures, developed by Nevosoft Inc., is a new game that is more than finding hidden objects. Following a complex storyline and adventure, this game will have you hooked in no time.
Concept and Gameplay:

I’ve always been a fan of hidden object games. There’s nothing quite like scouring a scene for objects. Not only that, but a hidden object game with a storyline only makes it better. Pirate Adventures is the tale of Sharpshooter Jack, a pirate who has received a mysterious box. Though he hasn’t a clue as to what the contents are, he must travel in search of answers.
One of the first things I noticed about Pirate Adventures was the graphics. The game looks very sharp on my Nexus 7, and I really like how background objects are distinguished from clickable objects simply by making clickable ones sharper and clearer. This definitely helps while searching through a large screen of items for something in particular.
Pirate Adventures isn’t only about hidden objects, though. There are many mini games which will test your mental reflexes, and they help to give your eyes a rest. There are a total of 65 challenging levels, which will keep you occupied and entertained for hours.

Of all the features Pirate Adventures offers, I’d have to say my favorite is the storyline. The only issue I have is the fact that there tends to be dialog overload, and I frequently found myself zipping through chapter introductions just to start playing the game. Naturally this can be problematic because it’s easy to miss important bits and pieces of the story.
Another great feature is the ability to zoom in and out of images while searching for objects. Sometimes the object you’re trying to locate is surprisingly small or well-hidden, so this is a very useful tool and definitely helps while locating objects.
Lastly, you have a total of 10 minutes to complete each level. If you try to cheat the game by tapping randomly on the screen, you’re penalized and time is taken off the clock. The only problem with this is that each time you tap the screen to scroll around (especially while zoomed in), it counts as if you were tapping an object. Zip around the screen too quickly and you’ll be surprised at how fast your timer runs out.
Value:

Even though Pirate Adventures is free, you can only play up to the second chapter. After that, you must promote the game via Facebook or Twitter to unlock the rest of the story. Personally I’d rather pay for the full version of Pirate Adventures than be forced to promote the game via social media. Plus this poses a disadvantage for those who either don’t have or don’t want accounts on either network.
If you’re searchin’ for a great game t’ help pass t’ time, Pirate Adventures be definitely worth a look.
