The basic idea behind the app looks something like this: When you boot it up, it accesses a map of all the points nearby. Or, if you’d prefer, you can search for a building or area. Once you’ve found what you’re looking for, just set an alarm. No, this isn’t a ticking time clock kind of alarm. Rather, you set how close you need to be to the place before the alarm goes off. That might not seem useful at first glance, so we’ll explain:

Let’s say you ride the bus on a daily basis. Let’s say you also have a nasty habit of missing your stop. The next time you’re starting off for the day, set a location reminder. On the way home, the alarm will sound, and you’ll know exactly when to get off. Starting with that simple mechanic, you can open up a world of possibilities.

Design and Interface

Now, all of this would be great and lovely, but it requires to important things: A solid interface, and a GPS system that actually works. Thankfully, the app is rocking both. The interface is rock solid and comes with a lot of simplistic, touch-based controls that just work. It took us about five seconds a piece to set our reminders, and that’s seriously quick. Additionally, the GPS system at work here tended to be spot on. In fact, we never once had it misfire, or go outside of the bounds we set for our reminders. This makes sure the app performs like a champ, and we appreciate the effort.

At the end of the day, Milwus Location Alarm is that sort of application that if you don’t have a need for, you won’t use.
