To start today’s review of Cosmo Battles off correctly, we feel we should mention the fact that we have a gigantic soft spot for tactics-based games. We love puzzle games for the cramps they give our grey matter, but we also like to bust some fluff up. With that in mind, it’s games like Cosmo Battles that truly combine all of our interests in one, endlessly engaging package. Concept and Gameplay

Cosmo Battles Free for Android

If you haven’t guessed it by now Cosmo Battles (which sounds conspicuously named, given some synonyms create a much better known franchise) is a turn-based strategy game that’s reminiscent of tabletop productions. You’ll start off the game with a set number of units, which you must then guide around the map to complete objectives. These objectives will range from completing certain circuits, landing in certain spots, or destroying certain unwanted enemies.

It’s a great deal of fun, and it’s also a system that’s bolstered by in-game cash which can be used for upgrades. As you go along, you’ll find the play style you prefer, and then purchase equipment to match. Your units will grow, the objectives become larger, and before you know it you’re swimming in cerebral combat like you’ve never known before. And all of this from the palm of your hand, thanks to your Android device. All in all, there’s a great deal of variety here, as well as plenty of depth to the mechanics.

Graphics and Interface

We made a joke about the game being similar to another Blizzard-run franchise, but this is only in name, we assure you. Cosmo Battles is a rather stunning looking game that seemed to perform well on every device tried. For a game that looks this good, that’s quite astounding. Furthermore, we liked the fact that attention to detail is shown in every level, as well as in your interactions with your robotic helper. Furthermore, the touch-based controls could not be simpler to use. Just tap a unit, then tap the place you’d like to go, the enemy you’d like to attack, or the object you’d like to interact with. It’s bloody simple, and it leads to bloody results—hopefully in your favor!

Overall Value

The free version of the app comes with only a small number of levels unlocked for you to enjoy. However, for two whole bucks you can purchase the paid version and play through the game’s mammoth collection of content. There’s a lot to like here, in both a literal and metaphorical sense.
