Game developer Baby Cortex has followed its popular Alphabet Car app up with a whole new edutainment app, Alphabet Car 2. With over 45 new words, and 15 words from the original app, Alphabet Car 2 looks like a sure hit!
Features
Initially, you get to choose your vehicle. Kids will love the challenge of unlocking more vehicles, in true gamer fashion. Then, select the game mode (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert). Select the stage, unlocking more as you beat each one. Then, steer your car, bus or other vehicle through the 3D level, right into each letter to spell a new animal word. Get all the letters right to progress through the stage. But watch out! Levels do get trickier, with more letters to select from on the road!
You’ll be able to shift your vehicle into faster or slower gears, tilt the tablet or phone to steer (responds excellently), pause the game or switch up the music (great beats) while playing. Every few levels or so, you can unlock a new car too! It’s a fun way to learn new letters and words, with a focus on animals, colors, and shapes! I found the game play to be very well done, fun and fast-paced enough to keep attentions focused on the game, but not so tricky that youngsters would be scared off.
Graphical Layout
Alphabet Car 2 looks absolutely fantastic on Android. The graphics are a mixture of cartoony 3D mixed with some 2D backgrounds. The developers have gone out of their way to make this game look quite professional, even for a children’s edutainment app. Furthermore, the audio quality of both the background music and the narration (“LION!”) is excellent! Animations on the vehicles are perfect, with a “Cars” (Disney) style vibe permeating the bouncy, cute vehicles. The 3D scenery flashes by as you cruise in your Lion Bus and other cute vehicles, all adding the to the great environment setting of Alphabet Car 2!

Edutainment apps, like Alphabet Car 2, are all the rage on Android. After all, who wouldn’t want to turn their phone or tablet into a handy teaching tool for their youngsters? It’s also a great way to keep children focused during those long car rides and other doldrums.
