Glass Fort
Android Game Review by AndroidAppsReview.com
Glass Fort, developed by Solverlabs, is an engaging puzzle game that will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat. Perfect for both casual and serious gamers, this is one you won’t want to miss.
Concept and Gameplay:

Glass Fort is simple to learn but difficult to master, making it an intriguing game for players of all ages and skill levels. Over the course of 100 different levels, you’re given a series of red and blue blocks that are arranged in the shape of a tower or similar structure. The goal is to destroy blue blocks without damaging red blocks. Seems like a super simple concept, right? Well, thanks to a great physics engine, things can go downhill rather quickly if you don’t plan ahead. All it takes is one bad break to send all of your blocks off the edge of the platform, including precious red ones.

At the end of each Glass Fort level, you’ll be presented with how many crystals you earned based on your score (and any that you might’ve picked up during gameplay as bonuses). Crystals are used to purchase lives and other power ups, so make sure you collect as many as you can. Each red block broken costs you a life, and replenishing lives can become rather costly. If you run out of lives and crystals, you’re faced with replaying levels over and over until you can replenish them.
As far as overall thoughts on gameplay, I found Glass Fort to be pretty fun to play. The soundtrack is very calm and mellow, which makes it a pleasure for casual players. The game seemed to respond very well to external input, and I never experienced broken blocks as a result of something wrong with the game itself (like a poor physics engine). However, the biggest problem of the game is life management. It would be better if lives replenished at the beginning of each level, but having to purchase lives is a bit silly.
Features:

Glass Fort has many features that help to make gameplay more fun and exciting. For example, you can tap individual blocks one at a time or you can use multitouch capabilities to destroy blocks at the same time. This is perfect for players who like to develop strategies while completing puzzles. The game can get harrowing pretty quickly, so accuracy and patience will definitely help.
Also, Glass Fort features quite a few cool boosts and bonuses that will make the game a bit easier to play. Some of these bonuses can be purchased with crystals, but most of them will randomly appear during gameplay. It’s your job to quickly react by tapping them as they fly upwards from the bottom of your screen. Boosts and bonuses do quite a number of things, from freezing gravity to giving you more lives and crystals.
Value:

Glass Fort can be downloaded from the Google Play store for $0.99, but there’s also a free version if you’re still on the fence about the game. While the game is fun to play if you’re someone with a steady hand, it really falls short when it comes to managing lives. Glass Fort certainly has potential, but I can’t see it shattering the competition just yet.
Android Apps Review Details: Glass Fort is $0.99 and requires Android 2.3+. You can download it from Google Play.
