We here at Android Apps Review love us some seriously good arcade gaming on any device. However, we very much enjoy any game that let’s us take it with us on our Android phone.
We like nothing more than getting to blast birds, poke pigs, and shoot zombies while standing in line at the local cinema. And thanks to Zombies Can’t Jump, from Okijin Ltd., a widely inventive and colorful title for the Android platform, we can satisfy all of that in one go. Concept and Gameplay
Zombies Can’t Jump for Android
If you were wondering, in this universe the sage advice of the application’s title does in fact hold say: Zombies are incapable of jumping, which serves as the core backbone of Zombies Can’t Jump’ gameplay.
In-app, you play a lonely bandit and his sidekick, battling it out against an oncoming horde of angry zombies. Or maybe they’re just hungry? Either way, they want you dead, and the only way to beat them is to build up and shoot hard.
Essentially, you’ll need to leverage a few things in-game. First and foremost, you need to use construction kits to keep the high rises coming. If you’re at ground level, you’re dead. This is why you’ll constantly need to build up crates and boxes to stay in the air, though the zombies will do their best to destroy your handiwork.
Along the way you’ll get to unlock bigger, badder guns to deal with the hordes. You can use everything from a shotgun all the way up to an RPG, and trust us when we say it’s quite fun. Overall, with a quirky mechanic, some mad tapping action, and a wealth of gameplay just waiting for you, Zombies Can’t Jump is a crazy good time out.
Design and Graphics
Another boon for Zombies Can’t Jump is the fact that it just looks good. The app is delicious in appearance, what with all of its rich, bright colours. The scheme is very cartoon friendly, but we hardly found this to be a bad thing. In a lot of ways, it made us think of another zombie-focused game with some horticultural undertones.
However, it’s more of an homage if anything, and we’d hardly call Zombies Can’t Jump a clone of any other title. The controls are simple, the gameplay rich, and the graphics delightful.
Overall Value
Zombies Can’t Jump also happens to be just in that one-dollar sweet spot that we’re always carrying on about.
This makes the app a fabulous bargain, and if you’re in need of a new arcade game to wile away the hours with, a good steal at that. All in all, Zombies Can’t Jump earns a solid recommendation from us, as well as our full trust.
