Name this Place, by developer TuneSystems, is a new puzzle and geography quiz game for Android devices. Featuring a wide array of photographs from various world-famous landmarks, this app looks to educate and entertain all at once.
Features
Name this Place is basically a world photo tour recognition app. With 5 levels, 10 questions each, it offers a nice selection of challenging courses for you to try and solve. Load up the app, then dive right in to the first level.
Here, you will be greeted by a screen with a photo of a landmark in a certain city, place, country, etc. On the bottom of the screen is a selection of letters, and in the middle is a bunch of empty boxes, corresponding to the length of the word you’ll need to spell.
Choose the right letters to spell out the location and you get to move onto the next puzzle! You’ll need to earn virtual travel tickets by successfully beating each level to advance to further levels. It’s pretty basic fun but it functions well and it is nice to test out how knowledgeable you are about world famous spots!

Name this Place features a fairly bare-bones, simple layout that may really turn off some users. From the entry screen to the game play levels, each window is very minimal in terms of design.
The photos look sharp and are fairly high-quality, however, even on larger devices like tablets. Layout is very simple as well but allows for simple, worry-free gaming without too many distractions. There are in-game ads but they don’t detract too much from the overall experience.

Name this Place is a pretty simple app but it offers a fun selection of famous world landmarks to test your geographic knowledge with. With it’s multiple levels and colorful photos, it is sure to impress fans of such geography and travel apps.
I would love to see more levels or a greater variety in game play options, even a little flare to the overall graphical design. However, it still offers a neat game play experience. Give it a whirl today, for free, through Google Play.
