Memories, Relive your moments!
Android App Review by AndroidAppsReview.com
Ever wanted to relive your memories? If yes, then this extremely easy to use application, Memories from Maurizio Palesi, is perfect for you. There is nothing funky about this app; there are no great graphics, transitions or hard to use functions.
What I really like about it is that it lets you “pack up” a number of photos in a single video for easy viewing and sharing. And as we all know, movies are better way of communication than are pictures.
Don’t expect too much in the way of fancy effects, though. This app is focused on a single function; making videos of selected pictures so that you could re-live your memories in a video format rather than the all-too-common slideshow.
In fact, to make the most of its singular functionality the developer suggests that you wear your smartphone around your neck so you’re always ready to snap a shot at your family function or company event. They even sell a necklace/lanyard for just this purpose.
Features:
I was a bit disappointed that there are no too cool customizing or creative features. All you have a simple button to start the memories app then you will need to point the camera in the direction where you want it to take pictures and application will do it on its own.
Finally the application will ask you to choose the pictures which you want to include in the video and then accordingly it will create one for you.
You can share the created memories at all social Media sites and also you can even send it to your friends via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Direct, if your phone is equipped with that capability.
Settings:
You do get a bunch of settings so that you could customize some basic parameters of your video or even the pictures taken by the application. You can change the capture interval; you can even set what to do 2 seconds before capturing the moment.
You can even set the application to discard all the dark images by it. Then you do get option to use face detection option provided your device’s camera does support that. You can even lower the resolution of pictures as if you are running short of memory on your device.
Finally you do get option to mute the shot sound so that your movie doesn’t disturb the other people.
Design and Value:
Design is the department where most of the applications fail and this application is not an exception. Personally I felt that the developer didn’t spent much time devoting to design and graphics of the application which makes the overall appearance of it dull and it also hides the usability and functionality of application too.
Now heading over to the value, if we ignore appearance of the application and concentrate on the functionality alone then you can live with the application and give it a try but if you want all the departments to be good or great, then just like me, this version may only leave you wanting more.
Score:
Keeping all the perspectives in mind I will give this application 3.5 star. With a nice User Interface update and some added functionality this is easily a 4.5 star app.
Memories requires Android 2.2 and up. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
