Wordgo
Android App Review by AndroidAppsReview.com
If you are in your twenties then you probably know about this brain storming game. It seems to me that most of the people of this age group played a “lingo” style word game to pass the time when we were kids. But of course back then we used pages of our school notebooks, not dual or quad core smartphones.
As happens with many games, this one has also been brought into the modern world. Wordgo, from Sparw Creations, is lingo-type game with new tweaks, nice gameplay and 400 levels. And it’s all available right on your smartphone!
Objective:
The objective of this game is that you have to find out the hidden word by guessing letters. To help you in guessing, each word is provided with a random set of words above it which makes sense in a complex way.
If you see green colored letters then keep in mind that these are right spaced letters but you will have to find that combination from given set of green colored letters.
Then to help you more there will be some correct words in yellow colour but the problem is that they will be in random order and you will have to make sense from them.
If either the word is too hard or you are not able to judge even an easy one then the developer has provided you with three types of hints such as: a correct letter, extra time so that you can get help from your Facebook friends and even a hint in the form of an image.
Now to use hints you need something to trade off which you can do by earning coins in each level that you can spend later. Coins will also help you to unlock achievements.
You get total of 400 levels to play with and a bonus level after unlocking every 10th level. You can also select your language from English, Swedish and Norwegian.
Design and Navigation:
The game features pretty basic graphics along with a simple and to the point navigation. You get the option to shop and go to the leader board where you can compare your score with players worldwide.
Unfortunately you have to register in order to begin playing the game. It would be great if the developer made registering an option if you want to connect with others to play.
After you register you can search for players with whom you are playing simply by typing the name or by connecting your Facebook account.
Value:
I think the way by which app refreshes your childhood memories and the tweaks which developer has included to keep the game interesting is good. Graphics of the game could be better as these days technology is moving to Ultra HD displays so the low quality background wallpapers are not that appealing.
Overall:
This is one of my favorite childhood games and it’s nice to see it available on the Android platform; it’s free and enjoyable. I would like to see the developer improve the quality of the background images or, even better, let me use images or photos that I already have on my device.
Wordgo requires Android 2.1 and up. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
