When it comes to online poker, it’s actually pretty hard to get your hands on a good mobile edition. Because of US laws restricting such games, options aren’t nearly as plentiful as they are in other countries, like the United Kingdom.

Thankfully, you can still play Fresh Deck Poker to scratch that real money gambling itch. And man, does it scratch hard!

Concept and Gameplay

If you have ever played poker, then you know what’s at stake here. You’ll be placed at a table with several other strangers, given a hand, and asked to play standard Texas Hold-Em.

The application actually features several variations on this standard pokier setup, but we imagine most players won’t stray from the traditional experience.

And from there, you’ll start playing poker! It’s that easy, actually. The game gives you a certain amount of tokens to begin play with, but the rest is entirely up to you.

We found that tables with smaller bets and smaller stakes typically rewarded chips more easily. However, as you go up the ranks, you’ll likely find it harder and harder to squeeze the sauce out of your competitors.

In other words, there’s plenty of wiggle room for those that need the practice: But there’s also a wealthy end-game for you to compete against.

Otherwise, there’s not much else to add to Fresh Deck Poker’s gameplay. We doubt you’ll be surprised by much in terms of the game’s controls, though we do suspect you’ll be pleased with its quality.

Design and Interface

We aren’t the first ones to say this about Fresh Deck Poker, but it bears repeating—this is a good looking poker game. Everything about it is glowing, filled with vibrance, and completely devoid of clocks.

We’re kidding about that last one, but in all seriousness, this is a fantastically designed title. The avatars are clever and inviting, the controls are easy to manage, and the graphics are otherwise spotless.

To sum it all up another way, Fresh Deck Poker gets a definite tip of the hat, as well as our congratulations. Well done, lads. This one is rock-solid.

At the end of the day, the amount of fun and value you eek out of Fresh Deck Poker really depends on who you are. If you’re the kind of person that appreciates playing poker in one location, and then taking it with you wherever you go, you’ll love what Fresh Deck Poker has to offer. If you’re a newbie looking to hone your chops, you’ll also find a lot of joy in the app. And with a free price tag, you really can’t argue.
