Tap That
Android Game Review by AndroidAppsReview.com
Tap That is a fast-paced arcade game for Android. Created by Fabian Gröger, this game will test your reflexes, patience, and skill. If you’re looking for an addicting and challenging new game to play, Tap That is certainly worth checking out.
Concept and Gameplay
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from reviewing Android games, it’s the ones that look easy which turn out to be challenging to play. Tap That is no exception, of course, but its difficulty makes it a game that will keep players coming back to best their score.
The idea of the game is simple – tap the character that’s erratically bouncing around the screen. Every time they hit a wall, you lose time from your round.
Run out of time, and the game is over. Players will likely recognize the character in each level, as they’re based off of famous video games and comics. The seven levels/characters are: Bloop, Pogo, Superpac, Spiderpac, Batpac, Sonicpac, and Packing.
Each level in Tap That increases in difficulty as you progress. You’ll advance in levels automatically once you’ve tapped a character enough times, so be prepared to have a character go from fairly slow to warp speed in a matter of a second or two.
In terms of gameplay, I found Tap That to be frustratingly entertaining. What I mean by this is that it’s a ridiculously simple concept, but actually doing well in the game is a challenge. I do like the idea of the game, though, and I can definitely see people playing it to top their high score.
Features
Tap That includes a couple of gameplay features which make it even better. For example, you can collect various bonuses while playing, such as additional time and points. There’s even a bonus which slows the level character down, which is a huge help in higher levels.
Lastly, Tap That includes Google+ capabilities, allowing you to see worldwide leaderboards and submit your score. This is a great way to challenge your friends and see who the fastest tapper is. Also, you can earn achievements (and accompanying bragging rights).
Value
Tap That can be downloaded from Google Play for free, which is always a plus. I was surprised to see that there aren’t any annoying ads to interfere with gameplay. Overall, if you’re looking for an addicting and fast-paced game that will test your reflexes as well as your patience, Tap That is certainly worth a look.
Tap That requires Android 2.2+. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
