BrickDown 3D
Android Game Review by AndroidAppsReview.com
BrickDown 3D, developed by Joongly, is an excellent challenging Android puzzle game that will test your skills and patience. Even though the game can get frustrating at certain points, there’s something about it that keeps you coming back for more.
Concept and Gameplay
The goal of BrickDown 3D is to complete each puzzle within a given number of tries. Each level consists of various shapes and objects that are arranged in different formations.
Players must throw an object (usually a shape) onto the field in an attempt to knock all of the shapes off of the platform. If any shapes are left on the platform when the throw limit has been reached, the game will end and you will have to restart the level.
The first BrickDown 3D zone is a simple static board where green shapes need to be knocked off of the platform.
The second zone adds red shapes to the equation, but the goal is still to knock the green shapes off of the platform without letting the red ones touch it. The third zone, which is incredibly difficult to reach, adds a rotating platform with wind which will affect the direction of your throw.
Even though BrickDown 3D might sound fairly simple and straightforward, this is definitely one of the most difficult games I’ve played for Android.
The physics engine is frustratingly accurate, which means objects tend to go all over the place on the platform. It might be reassuring to mention that no matter how many times I had to restart a level, so far I’ve been able to eventually pass it.
Features
A recent update to BrickDown 3D added player ratings for each level. You can earn a star for each level based on how well you played it, but simply passing a level doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll earn a star.
From what I can tell, you need to be able to complete a level with remaining throws in order to have a chance at the star. Other than progressive difficulty and excellent physics, BrickDown 3D unfortunately doesn’t include anything else in the way of features.
While this would usually count against the game, BrickDown 3D is unique in the fact that it has a lot going for it already. Sometimes keeping a game simple and straightforward is the best way to go.
Value
BrickDown 3D is available to download from Google play for free, which is always a wonderful price. There’s also a premium version of BrickDown 3D, which is available for $1.94.
Overall, I can’t harp on the game too much for being as difficult as it is, because that’s the way it’s supposed to be. This is not an easy game in which players will blast through all of the levels in a matter of hours. Your patience and skills will be tested to the max. If this sounds like your cup of tea, I definitely recommend BrickDown 3D.
BrickDown 3D requires Android 2.3+. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
