Olly Oops!
Android Game Review by AndroidAppsReview.com
Olly Oops, developed by Online Marketing Solutions, is a brand-new and entertaining game for Android. Featuring addicting gameplay and an adorable main character, this is definitely a new and noteworthy game.
Concept and Gameplay
If you’ve played the ever popular Flappy Bird game for iPhone and iPad (or something similar), you’ll recognize that Olly Oops follows a similar concept. It’s your duty to guide Olly the Ridley turtle through the treacherous ocean.
In order to do this successfully, you must help Olly avoid both obstacles and the seabed. This is accomplished by tapping or swiping the screen to keep Olly afloat. If you hit an obstacle or the sea floor, the game is over.
As you progress further and further along, you’ll reach higher levels and earn a bigger score. I’m not too sure whether levels are referring to Olly gaining experience or players reaching a higher level of gameplay, but I do know that it’s definitely tough to gain levels.
Olly Oops is a fantastic new game. The only thing that bothered me about it is the fact that it can be incredibly difficult at first. While this actually worked out well for similar games like Flappy Bird, I feel that Olly Oops is much more adorable and pleasant to play.
It would be a shame for new players to quit the game because they found it too tough at first. I’d love to see something like progressive difficulty that scales with levels.
Features
Olly Oops includes a couple of features that enhance gameplay. The greatest one is the inclusion of various boosts and powerups that help Olly along on his journey through the water. These boosts include extra lives, shields, and bonus points. I noticed that they’re not incredibly abundant, though, so if you see a boost, make a dive for it.
As with most Android games, Olly Oops allows players to share their score with a multitude of services. Like usual, this is typically limited only to the apps you have installed on your device. While sharing scores is fun, I think integration with Google’s new Play Games feature would make Olly Oops even more fun. This is merely a suggestion, though, as I think Olly Oops already has a lot going for it even though it’s a brand-new game.
Value
Olly Oops is available to download from Google Play for free and is compatible with Android version 4.0 and up. Overall, anyone who is looking for a great kid friendly game that’s challenging but entertaining should definitely consider giving Olly Oops a try!
Olly Oops! requires Android 4.0+. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
