RotoView PDF Reader
Android App Review by AndroidAppsReview.com
One of the wonderful conveniences of mobile devices is that they allow us to take work with us wherever we go. Though that can be both good and bad, it’s always nice to be able to access documents and whatnot even when we’re not at a computer.
RotoView PDF Reader is an innovative new productivity app for Android that allows users to browse PDF files in a completely different way.
It’s an awesome utility that’s perfect for anyone who needs to digest PDF files on a regular basis.
Concept and Functionality
At its core, RotoView PDF Reader, developed by INNOVENTIONS, Inc., is a PDF viewer that’s designed to allow the best reading experiences possible.
If you’ve ever had to look through a PDF document on your device, you’re well aware of how difficult it can be, especially on small screens.
RotoView PDF Reader aims to change this by introducing a one-of-a-kind scrolling method called RotoView Smart Scroll.
By zooming in on a document and shaking your device, you’ll activate a responsive scroll method that allows you to read through PDF files simply by physically rotating your device.
This might not seem like a revolutionary thing, but it’s something you have to try in order to really see the benefit of responsive scrolling.
RotoView PDF Reader has taken a simple concept and turned it into something incredibly useful, ultimately making it less of a chore to read PDF files on the go.
One thing I did notice about RotoView PDF Reader is that it has a bit of a learning curve when it comes to figuring out how to use the app to its maximum potential. Luckily there’s a handy tutorial PDF and help menu that’ll guide you through using the app.
Features
For a free PDF viewer, RotoView PDF Reader comes with an impressive number of features that you usually only see in paid apps. For example, users can tweak settings to customize the browsing experience, including changing the Smart Scroll speed.
Also, RotoView PDF Reader offers users a few different ways to navigate their device’s file system in order to find PDFs. There’s an All Folders view, which is actually a bit confusing for those who are easily intimidated by a large number of directories. There’s also an All PDF Files view, though, which is much more user friendly.
Value
RotoView PDF Reader is available to download from Google Play for free and is supported by ads. Users can choose to upgrade to the premium version of RotoView PDF Reader for $0.99, which will disable ads and unlock the ability to save annotations on PDFs.
Overall, RotoView PDF Reader is an incredible free PDF viewer for Android that’s both innovative and easy to use.
Personally I’d love to see cloud service integration in the future so it’s easier to access cloud-based PDF files as well.
RotoView PDF Reader requires Android 3.0+. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
