One thing I love about mobile games is that developers tend to get pretty creative. They have a knack for taking something simple and turning it into an immersive game that you simply can’t put down.
My Floor Is Lava is a great spin on an old classic and as much fun today as when you played it as a kid.
I know I sure did, and this particular game makes it a bit easier (and much more fun) to play anywhere.
Concept and Gameplay
The classic game of pretending the floor is lava didn’t require much except for an open space and an absence of adult supervision. Luckily My Floor Is Lava, a game by Gamescape Studios LTD, is much more accommodating!
The goal of My Floor Is Lava is very similar to the oldschool game; keep your character off the floor for as long as you can. It’s an endless running game, so you only have to worry about going for as long as you can. There’s one slight catch; the longer you run, the faster the game becomes.
One thing I really like about My Floor Is Lava is the graphics. They’re not overly simplified and cheesy, and everything is pretty pleasant to look at. The game ran completely fine on my old Nexus 7.
When it comes to controls, the only thing you have to do is tap the screen to make your character jump. The tricky part is doing this so that he or she lands on an object. If you hit the floor, the game is over unless you revive. You can also long tap on the screen to make your character jump higher.
Features
A recent update to My Floor Is Lava added additional characters for you to choose from.
There’s also a brand-new points system that will let you earn tokens. These tokens can be spent on items in the player shop.
The number of tokens you earn depends on how many obstacles are able to jump over each play through.
It’s a little tricky to get the rhythm down, but once you get used to the players speed in the spacing of objects, it’s fairly easy to rack up a high score.
Value
My Floor Is Lava is available to download from Google Play for free. Though the game is supported by ads, you only see them when you’re at the main menu or after completing a level. You can optionally watch video ads to earn additional tokens.
Overall, My Floor Is Lava is an incredibly fun game to play. I had a very hard time putting it down because it’s addicting and challenging.
You’re always trying to beat your previous score, which is what makes endless running games so fun in the first place.
My Floor Is Lava requires Android 2.3+.
