Power up this Android up and learn that evil atoms have taken over! It’s Nano Panda to the rescue. Clear levels, beat baddies and collect stars in this Android game. Not only are fuzzy shrunken panda bears the cutest thing in existence, Nano Pandas for Android makes learning about magnetism and gravity a lot more fun than they were in eighth grade science.

Gameplay

Nano Panda

While performing this Android Apps Review I shot Nano Pandas out of cannons, collected fabulous pink stars and defeated grouchy looking atoms gone bad. That sounds pretty simple, but this game is definitely challenging.

Launch your fuzzy world-savers from pint-sized cannons by tapping on them. Once they are set free guide your Nano Pandas towards evil blue atoms to complete a level. Try to hit all the bright pink stars before knocking out all the atoms. You’ll use the stars to unlock additional levels and difficulties. Watch your star meter in the top left-hand corner fill up with points as you complete each level with a pocket full of stars.

The introduction levels are easy enough, but as you move on to harder levels it gets tricky. The walls of each level are covered in spikes that pop your poor Nano Pandas, and then there are barriers and angles to be concerned with.

The true challenge of Nano Panda is learning how the pandas interact with one another. Launch more than one at the same time and the Nano Pandas will attract each other. Other game play includes using the gravitational to launch your pandas in a new circuit. Pause or restart a level with upper right-hand controls.

All of these interactions create some pretty tough levels, but it’s all in good fun. Challenge the laws of physics in a land populated with shrunken pandas and prevail!

Graphics

Nano Panda

Nano Panda is a bright, engaging game for Android. Colorful backdrops and clear graphics make it easy to use and play. Nano Pandas are rendered even more endearing as they yawn and blink and twitch. Evil atoms grimace and laugh at your futile attempts to knock them out, and get scared as their numbers dwindle and Nano Pandas get near. In other words, these are some intelligent and insanely adorable graphics that really give Nano Panda an edge over other games.

Game piece interaction is also designed with impeccable care. There is no delay in reaction. Gravity and magnetism, usually pretty yawn-worthy topics, are actually interesting in this setting. The main menu isn’t spectacular, but it’s neat and tidy and easy to use, so Nano Panda for Android loses no points here.

Stability

Actual game time is a solid experience in Nano Panda for Android. My only stability complaint involves quitting the game. Any time I closed out the application or paused and tried to go back to my Fascinate’s main screen I was greeted with minimal functionality for several minutes. Dear Nano Panda, please stop hijacking my phone. I’d like you a lot more if you stopped when I asked you to. Rejoining the game after venturing away is also a pretty stilted process. I had the same issue on an HTC Incredible.
