Wouldn’t it be great if you could keep up with all your favorite teams, artists and acts while earning rewards, connecting with fellow fans and finding the news you care about easily? Calibrus Inc thought you might. The developers of the new Fanatic Fans app for Android created a one-stop app where all your favorite obsessions can reside in harmony.
Features

Fanatic Fans
I had high hopes for Fanatic Fans while performing my Android app review. I love music, follow hockey and like apps that put the news I want in my hands fast. At first I was impressed. A simple tap on the settings icon and I could select “My Bands” to find my favorite groups, which would populate my home screen’s “Concerts” tab with information about local tour dates automatically. But then, the search feature didn’t work on the bands page. To find anything, I had to scroll endlessly and keep tapping “Load More.” Then some of the groups I love weren’t on their list of acts. Uh oh, strike one, Fanatic Fans.
Thankfully it was easier to add my local teams to my home page tabs. After completing my customization I perused the rest of this app’s features, including a forum and a news tab. Activity in the forum is pretty sparse, which has more to do with low user numbers than anything. I had a better feeling about the news tab, but when I got there I realized all the headlines are national and really didn’t have anything to do with my local fan experience. For an app that asks for your zip code and supplies local event details, this was a little disappointing.
There’s a check in option in this app where users can earn reward points. Ok, this feature is really very cool. You can get gift cards and credits just for doing what you do. Despite some faults in its other features, Fanatic Fans gets a bonus point for paying out.

Fun Factor
Fanatic Fans gets a use boost in the fun factor department for their great rewards and badges features. Check in at events, share events, share the app, and comment with text or photos to earn points. You even get 100 points just for signing up. At launch rewards include Best Buy gift cards, iTunes gift cards and a discount at Ticket Lobster, how fitting. Earn badges by hitting check in goals and follow your progress on the app’s leader board. When the user base increases, I think big things are in store for the forum as well.
Value
Fanatic Fans is a free app that can put good things in your hands for nothing. I may be a little disgruntled about the features, but this is a new app. I didn’t experience any stability issues and my phone didn’t have a heart attack when I installed it. Besides, free is always good.
Android Apps Review Details: Fanatic Fans Android app is free. This app requires Android 2.2 and up. You may download Fanatic Fans from the Android Marketplace.
