When faced with a beauty question you could drive to a shop, buy an overpriced magazine and hope the advice you get is worthwhile. Or, you could tap into the fantastic little Android app Mobile Beauty Adviser and receive personalized suggestions and see lists of your favorite products right in the palm of your hand. Seems like a simple choice. Lets put some lipstick on this Android app review for the Beauty Bazaar.

Features

Even after years of buying beauty products, the shopping experience can be a little overwhelming. On top of row after row of products all clamoring for your attention, there is the obvious concern. Is the product you select even right for your skin, hair and coloring? After performing a thorough Android app review, I can report that My Beauty Adviser app is a very handy way to figure out what products might work for you.

My Beauty Adviser

There are four main features of the My Beauty Adviser Android app. The beauty magazine tab brings users stories about the latest in hair, cosmetics and even celebrity beauty trends. Use the “Explore” tab to search for your favorite products from Pantene, Covergirl, Olay and Clairol by filling out the handy search bar, browsing by category, performing a voice search or scanning an existing product barcode.

Save items to your “Beauty Bag” then tap on it while you are on the go to see custom lists of your favorite cosmetics. No more scribbling notes or texting yourself lists of product names necessary. The final tab leads to your user profile, where you can link articles and items to Facebook, or use my favorite feature, the personal consultation questionnaires.

User Interface

My Beauty Adviser Android app is easy to navigate and control. A simple bottom of the page tab design will take you between topics with ease. A dedicated back button in the upper left-hand corner, and additional features in the upper right (such as a share icon or an edit icon) make navigation a snap. You’ll be fabulous and fast with My Beauty Adviser app.

Practical Application

My Beauty Adviser

The My Beauty Adviser Android app is from Proctor & Gamble, so it is not an exhaustive source of beauty information. There are some heavy hitters here. I am especially fond of CoverGirl and Olay products, so I could see myself using this app in the future. The magazine articles are interesting, but not updated as frequently as I would like. If you use one of the P & G brands featured in this app, you’ll really appreciate the ease of use. If not, it’s kind of pointless.

An easy way to add to the value and practicality of this app would be to add a coupon feature. Just something to think about, P & G.

Value

In times of litte and in times of plenty, I’m a girl after a bargain. My Beauty Adviser Android app is free to download. As a beauty product nut, I’m going to be keeping it. I also think it is a valuable download for people searching for new products or just someone looking for product info and reviews on the go.

  1. Hey Valerie,

Thanks for taking the time to write a review on My Beauty Adviser. I’m a marketer on Olay and led the development of the app with our partners at Densebrain. It’s great to hear you found it useful in many of the ways we were hoping it will be utilized. I’d love to chat in more detail about your experience and ways you think we can make the next version an even better experience for the app user. We hear you on the magazine content; more is on it’s way;)

    Thanks!
    Mike Bott
