The third installment of the Zenonia series takes mobile RPG games to a whole new level. The dynamic game treads the fine line between classic console RPGs and the best Android quest apps with some serious aplomb. So arm yourself with your dandiest helm and strap in for an epic Android app review.

Gameplay

The Zenonia 3Android app takes the typical RPG game and puts it on steroids. From step one this game is all about the options. Choose between four character classes to customize your battle style.

Zenonia 3

Maybe you like hitting it hard and heavy up close and personal. You’ll want to play a Sword Knight or a Shadow Hunter. If stand at a distance and blast em to smithereens is more your style, go with a Mechanic Launcher or a Nature Shaman.

Navigate 227 unique maps and complete 136 in-app quests. There is even a PVP zone where you can combat rivals at three different levels of difficulty. Not to mention the insane amount of gear you can collect and equip, the mind boggling variety of monsters (even one that looks like a Sleestak!) to beat and a quirky collection of trophies to earn along the way

I love the over the top amount of busy work in Zononia 3 Android app. This app flows together so well with a sweet story line that I can’t help but get sucked in.

User Interface

With many features and variables come many buttons to be pushed. Zononia 3 Android app does its best to keep the user interface clear for playing with features like a disappearing map and a relatively transparent in-app joystick.

I applaud their organization efforts but still wish the app left a bit more space for the game. I also have a small complaint about the responsiveness of in-app buttons. I had to tap several items multiple times to get a reaction, though the battle button does not seem to have this problem. It is still annoying.

Graphics & Design

Zenonia 3

Zononia 3 Android app harkens back to the early days of Final Fantasy and some of the layouts look like a blatant rip off of my favorite Zelda, but it’s an Android app so I really do not mind.

There are a lot of details such as intricate forests of trees your avatar can still move through that suggest a studied hand, despite the simple nature of the game’s graphics. I do wish for a bit more visual clarity, but it’s hard to keep an app retro if you clean up the style too much.

Value

Best of all, Zononia 3 Android app is available for free in the Android Market. Sure, that means that a few screens have ads built in, but they aren’t bad and do not impede game play. I think you get a whole lot of app for nothing with Zononia 3 and intend to play it religiously for the next week.
