Andy’s Workshop’s 3D Stunt Car Race Android app isn’t your standard racing app. During our Android app review we found out trucks, stiff suspension and guts define who walks away with the biggest prize.
Gameplay
3D Stunt Car Race
As with many Android racing apps, the purpose of 3D Stunt Car Race is to get through a course faster than others. In this case those “others” are imaginary folks who you never see. They do pop up on the leader board with times though.
Your job is to navigate a course full of jumps, steep inclines, barrels, boxes and even the occasional pole or semi-trailer in a beat up truck. If you manage it in one of the course’s top speeds you earn money. Money leads to vehicle upgrades, which lead to better times and improved leader board scores.
I like the idea behind the 3D Stunt Car Race Android app. Personally I think it’s much more fun to play off-road racing games. The terrain, challenges and cars are just more fun. In this case however other issues with this app sell the idea short.
User Interface

The 3D Stunt Car Race Android’s UI is still a bit rough. On screen controls are relatively large and look like plain boxes. However they are easy to reach while driving, so there is that.
It’s also difficult to navigate the truck upgrade UI. You have to go on to the next element and then scroll through them at the bottom to see anything useful, and it does not include any information about parts you’ve had before, progressed past, etc.
Graphics & Design
The graphics and design work on the 3D Stunt Car Race Android app are basic at best. I know developers say the app is in beta. But I have to ask, why bother releasing an app that’s this rough?
Despite pretty easily identified truck controls, this app is nearly impossible to play with any amount of accuracy. Too often graphics overlap, or you repopulate in a spot where it’s impossible to move, caught in the middle of a trick or hill. Giving your truck some gas, even on a flat surface, inevitably causes it to flip over.
These issues are not intermittent, they are constant. I do not understand the far flung popularity of this app. It’s so frustrating to play that the patience of a saint is necessary just to make progress.
Value
Thank goodness the 3D Stunt Car Race Android app is free, or else I’d be giving it negative stars. If you’re looking for a frustrating yet mildly gratifying racing app, or if you love watching big trucks tumble over and over in ways that real world gravity would never allow, then this app might be your cup of tea.
Otherwise, Android Apps Review definitely suggests avoiding the title for now.
