RPG game moguls at Gamevil have yet another action adventure title in the Android Market. This one’s called Destinia and it stays very close to the group’s Zenonia trilogy Android apps that we previous brought to your attention.
If you can’t wait to get your Zelda on you will love our Android app review of Destinia.
Concept & Gameplay

Destinia
In Destinia you play Duke. Jaded with the corruption of a system he thought stood for justice, Duke is cast aside by his former teacher, only to be found by a group of resistance fighters.
You lead Duke on a journey of redemption, discovery, friendship and adventure. There are two main game modes: one guided by more than 30 hours of quests and another full of PVP action.
In quest mode you will range all over the world, battling monsters and exploring strange towns as one of three possible classes: warrior, gunner or thief. This is also where you can find and train a pet that will help you fight (both here and in multiplayer mode).
An extensive craft functionality is available to you any time. Combine, deconstruct and build items whenever you get the feeling. Utilize Destinia’s extensive skill tree to arrange your character points however you want.
On the surface Destinia is just like any other basic action RPG. In Multi Mode you are paired up against characters of the same level in one-on-one battle. We were pretty impressed with the PVP population. Never having to wait more than a moment for an opponent was really very nice.
There is also an auction style store, stat tracker and messaging system built in.
One of our only gameplay concerns involves lightning fast respawns. It seems like every time you turn around an undead baddie is popping out of the ground, causing the occasional tight situation.
Layout & Design
Destinia
Navigating the Destinia Android app and controlling Duke can be a bit unwieldy. Some buttons do respond directly to touch, but most use the app’s ever present back arrow, select keys and nav pad.
While moving Duke a double touch in any given direction causes him to dash. It’s a bit too easy to trigger this motion, which can dash you right in to the waiting arms of attacking monsters.
Graphically Destinia is on par with Gamevil’s other RPGs. That means they are detailed and colorful but occasionally fuzzy. The game’s graphics do shine in magic attacks, lighting up the screen with brilliant pyrotechnic effects.
Value
While there are plenty of special items, credits and more available to purchase in-app, it is free to download the Destinia Android app from the Android Market. It’s hard to say no to free. So if you love this style of gaming you owe it to yourself to give Destinia a shot.
