Gameplay

In Pyxxis 2 your job is to select a character and go forth to collect candy and stars, ultimately landing in front of a fuzzy television where are little Pyxx’s dreams come true. Or, something like that. While the app does have a cartoon style intro video, it’s a bit difficult to decipher any clear storyline here. But, we do know that this game is a ton of fun.
There are 50 unique levels to traverse in five different worlds. You’ll use directional arrows, boosts and other handy tricks to avoid spikes, baddies and other traps. There are 27 badges to earn through smart gameplay and a special game challenge is hidden as well.
Some aspects of the game are a little difficult to master, especially when you first start playing. We think collecting stars was particularly difficult (the trick is that you must collect the stars in order, so get the star on the first level to unlock the second, etc.), but a certain part of us appreciates the challenge. Layout & Design
Pyxxis 2
As we mentioned earlier, the graphics in Pyxxis 2 are downright adorable. That’s especially true for the characters you’ll play, like orange, gum drop style Pyxx, his rebellious pal Tryxx and the bubble gum pink Chyxx. The game levels are decidedly two-dimensional, but they’re all so different and smart that we just don’t mind at all. You’ll use your candy collection and points to unlock extras as you go, so the game only gets cuter while you play.
Functionality
Pyxxis 2 is a pretty complicated game, with a lot of levels and some advanced graphics. Yet it doesn’t seem to stumble, stutter or force close on us. In fact, it runs quite smoothly. Sure, sometimes the levels take a moment to load, but it’s not a bad wait. We heartily approve of this app’s smooth operating.
Overall Value
Like so many awesome apps, Pyxxis 2 is entirely free to download and play. C’mon. Download it already. There’s no reason to resist that much cuteness, and the game is smart and engaging to boot. We endorse this app and suggest adding it to your repertoire tout de suite.
