Way back in 2011, we reviewed an application called SMS Forwarder, from Zygotelabs. It was a for-pay message forwarding utility for the Android platform with a no nonsense approach to the job. Now, we’re taking yet another look at this killer application. SMS Forwarder Pro is back with updated features, a good-looking interface, and more than enough reason to jump onto its free bandwagon.
If, however, you need a little more coaxing, you need only to slide on down below the break for our full review. Starting with:
Concept and Functionality
As you might expect from an application called SMS Forwarder Pro, the app will send your text messages somewhere other than your phone with (a very literal) tap of a button. However, that’s a little more complex than it might initially seem, and with good reason.
Let’s say you need to leave your office phone behind for some reason, but you’d like to continue to get your messages. How do you do it? Well, just download SMS Forwarder Pro and tell it to send all incoming missives directly to your other line.

You won’t miss a beat, and you can leave the other device wherever it has to be. Even better, the app will put everything behind a thick wall of 128 bit AES CBC encryption, just to be safe.
SMS Forwarder Pro is also great when you want to make sure you have a backup of all your text messages, but don’t want to bother uploading them to your computer yourself. Just tell the app to direct your messages to your email inbox, and you’ve automatically got a full copy rocking.
And if there happens to be some issue with internet connectivity or server downtime? Then what? Have no fear, the queuing system is there for just such situations or whenever forwarded messages could not be forwarded.
It’s quick, simple, and stupid easy to setup. Doesn’t get any better than that!
Design and Graphics
The best part about SMS Forwarder Pro is that it also happens to look pretty good. That’s saying a lot for a utility application like this, as they’re usually not at the top of our Best Designed Apps lists.
However, what you’ll find here is a sleek, modern looking interface with one very prominent button. Not sure how to work SMS Forwarder Pro? Then you might need to have your eyes checked. Either tap your way to the settings (it isn’t difficult) or slap the big red button to start working immediately on forwarding those texts.
Overall Value
In fact, cost-effectiveness is really the only area where we can’t quite give SMS Forwarder Pro a full gold medal. You see, the app is totally free in the Google Play Store, which is certainly alright with us. But, you’ll also need to pay for credits in order to send those messages somewhere else. That isn’t optimal, in our books, but then again, where else are you going to find this kind of service on the Android platform?
All in all, SMS Forwarder Pro is a solid title with a clearcut functionality and many excellent reasons to download it for free. Sounds like a five out of five to us!
