These days, you’re doing everything with your phone and you’re loving it. Phone calls (maybe), texting, emails, whatsApp, Skyp, controlling your smart home and smart speakers, and more.
So why are you still using business cards? OK, maybe you’re scanning them to add the info to your contact list but why use them at all?
BumpR is the perfect way to exchange contact information with just a tap of your phone.
Features
What sets the BumpR app, developed by Sologix, apart from other contact list utility apps is that it is totally secure and incredibly easy to use.
By leveraging Near Field Communications (NFC), you are able to exchange all of your relevant contact info with any phone that’s right up against your own and running BumpR. Right now “any phone” means “any Android phone” but we hope to see Sologix release an iOS version of their app soon.
When you first open the app, you can easily set up your pertinent contact information including name, phone number, social media info email address, birth date, physical address, and message that want to be included with your contact info. To make it even easier, you also have the option of having the app load all of that info from your Facebook profile.
Once you’ve “bumped” someone and received their contact info you then have the option of adding it to your contacts, adding that person in Facebook, or sending an email.
There are a few settings you can fiddle around with to make the process work. These include your NFC settings, retrieving info from Facebook, creating a new encryption keypair and downloading your contacts.
Once you’ve done this very little bit of set up, you’re good to go.
We think you’ll appreciate just how easy it is to give and get contact info using this app. And, in fact, we think the simplification Sologix brings to this tedious task will encourage you to let you friends, family, colleagues, and other acquaintances know about BumpR and that they too should download it.
Appearance and Layout
This app is very straightforward and benefits tremendously from not trying to over complicate what is, in essence, and simple process. You enter your information for sending and receive contact information in return.
Not much to complicate here but you’d be surprised by how many devs try to make simple procedures as complex as possible. We appreciate the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) approach and more devs could take a lesson from this app.
Value
This app is an excellent value since it’s available to download for free and holds the promise of greatly simplifying a daily tedious task.
BumpR requires Android 4.4 and up.
