Mask On / Mask Off actually makes the task of putting on face masks fun. While this may seem strange, I think you’ll agree after trying it out.
This is one game that’s great for testing your reflexes and killing a bit of time while also encouraging responsible behavior.
Concept and Gameplay
The idea behind Mask On / Mask Off, a free game by OnceRed LLC, is to identify which faces on the screen are unmasked. You have to quickly tap them in order to put a face mask on before they disappear. Rounds are successfully completed once all faces have been covered with a mask.
The number of squares and faces on the screen increases with each round, and I do like the fact that the game gets progressively harder. However, you have to be careful and avoid the squares that have little flu bugs on them.
As rounds are completed, you earn points to spend on medicine. These power ups show up at the top of the screen in each round and you can tap them to activate. If you lose around, you also lose points.
Features
Mask On / Mask Off is a pretty straightforward game in that you really only have to focus on tapping faces before the end of the round. There are a few extras that are worth mentioning, though.
There are three difficulty settings for you to choose from: easy, nasty, and devilish. Difficulty setting increases, the speed at which faces appear and disappear on the screen speeds up.
Something that you don’t see very often is a developer who is straightforward about giving back to a cause. According to the developer, all revenue from advertisements are donated to First Responders and local food pantries.
Even though ads tend to be a little frequent in the game, it does make you feel better knowing the revenue generated from them is going towards something positive.

Mask On / Mask Off is available to download from Google Play for free and is designed for Android. As mentioned above, the game is supported by ads but you don’t have to worry about in-app purchases.
Overall, Mask On / Mask Off is a unique twist on something we’ve had to integrate into our daily lives for nearly a year. This is a great way to stress the importance of protecting yourself and others by wearing a face mask.
