HBO did not hold anything back when they created the HBO GO Android app. Users have access to a vast assortment of HBO’s back catalog. Catch every episode of favorites such as “Sex and the City,” “Entourage” and “Big Love,” and enjoy new shows shortly after they air. As a Comcast user, there are more watching options with HBO GO than there are “on demand” from my provider. This may make me slightly frustrated with my cable provider, but it only makes me more enamored with HBO for giving up the goods.

There is also a sizable collection of movies for users to peruse. HBO specials, comedy, documentaries, late night programming and children’s programming are all available. Fear not, concerned parents. You can enable age-appropriate content filters before handing your little one HBO GO for entertainment.

The sheer amount of content available in HBO GO may sound a bit unwieldy. The handy “Watchlist” feature allows you to mark content you are interested in watching in the future. For example, if you want to watch “Band of Brothers” but don’t have the time right now to enjoy all ten episodes, put them in your “Watchlist” by tapping the little plus sign on the episode details. You are only two clicks away from your saved favorites once you launch the app. Go to “Menu” then click “Watchlist.”

Press “Home” to find your way back to the launch page. Select “Watchlist” to peruse saved programming. “Categories” is your ticket to searching for movies, series, comedy, sports, documentaries and late night coverage. In short the lay out is direct, effective, and a superb platform for HBO’s A-plus content.

Stability
I have no complaints about the application’s stability. Every menu option has worked quickly and without a stumble. Logging in and gaining access didn’t even take a full minute. User reviews describe some complications with the application on the original Motorola Droid. I can report successful, uneventful installations on a Samsung Fascinate, HTC Droid Thunderbolt, and HTC Droid Incredible.
Value
This app is free to HBO subscribers. That’s value, folks. Pay nothing extra, get a lot more content and get it on the go. The only complaint I have is that users cannot log in on more than one device and stream content simultaneously, and that the HBO GO app makes me want an Android tablet very badly.

DISH Online with HBO GO is great, I watch all of my favorite shows whenever I want. Working for DISH Network I know that you can view all of the HBO content as well as the thousands of other shows DISH Network is offering at anytime. I even have the ability to stream live TV or even my recorded content straight from my DVR.
